A guide to the all new hook mobile app

We've put together a quick guide on getting the most out of the Hook mobile app. Whether you're remixing your favorite tracks or exploring what's possible on Hook, Hook gives you all the tools you need to make truly unique hooks and join a vibrant community of music lovers.

Create a hook in seconds

Start making a hook in our Studio by tapping the plus button at the bottom of the app. Browse our licensed music library featuring popular artists across various genres including Tiesto, Sadie Jean, KSHMR, Zach Hood, Quavo, Billianne, Cash Cobain, Jaden, Bing Crosby and more added every day. Choose up to a 30-second clip of the song that you want to remix, then hit “Continue to Studio” to see a variety of AI-powered creative effects at the bottom of your screen to help make your hook unique:

• Mashups: Make a mashup with one tap and reimagine your favorite song. In your Hook tab, simply tap the “Add Song” button and start exploring recommended mashup songs that match the beat, tempo and chord of your song. Once you confirm your mashup song, you can change the song mix or tap the song to choose another moment of the song to mashup with.

• Music filters: Transform the genre or mood of your hook instantly by applying one or more music filters. Remove the vocals with the Instrumentalize filter. Turn your hip-hop track into a country remix. Adjust the intensity of the filter to find your perfect vibe. 

• Sound effects: Play with the speed, pitch, reverb, and more to make your hook stand out.

• Video: Make your hook visual by personalizing the cover art or adding a video or photo from your camera roll.

Share with the world

Once you’re happy with your hook, hit “Next” to move to the share screen. Here you can preview the hook, add a caption and hashtags. You can also select TikTok, Instagram or other available social platforms to post to. After tapping the Post button, your hook will be featured in Hook’s Explore feed and will also live under the hook tab on your Profile page, where people can find all the hooks you’ve shared. If you had selected another social platform to share to, your hook will be posted there automatically. 

You can also choose to share your own hook or others at any time by tapping the share icon on the hook post. From here, you can also choose to share the hook in direct messages by copying the link or choosing your preferred messaging app via the “More” option. 

Explore what's trending on Hook

Our Explore feed showcases the best of trending hooks made by the Hook community - swipe up to explore hooks by songs and swipe across to interact with different remixes of the same song. Find a hook you love? Like, comment or save the hook to your profile. Tap the hook button to clip the same part of the song and make your own hook. Find all the hooks featuring the song or effect by tapping on the song information or the effects.

Search hooks by song, artist, user and music effect and explore our Community Pages to see the latest activity. Discover what’s trending in remix culture with Top Creators, Trending Hooks and Mashups.
